The Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Program is a prestigious, fully funded opportunity for international students to pursue their bachelor’s, master’s, one-tier master’s, non-degree, and doctoral studies in Hungary. Launched by the Hungarian Government in 2013, this program aims to promote the internationalization of Hungarian higher education, strengthen international relations, and foster cultural exchange.
With over 11,000 scholarships awarded since its inception, this program supports students from more than 90 countries, offering a wide range of courses in English across multiple disciplines.
Eligibility Criteria 🤝
- Be a National of a Sending Partner Country: With a bilateral educational cooperation agreement with Hungary
- Meet Academic Requirements: Hold a high school diploma for undergraduate programs, a bachelor’s degree for master’s programs, and a master’s degree for doctoral programs
- Language Proficiency: Demonstrate proficiency in English or Hungarian, depending on the program’s language of instruction
- Obtain a Nomination: From the applicant’s home country’s designated sending partner
Scholarship Benefits 🎁
- Full Tuition Coverage: Exemption**: For five years
- Monthly Stipend: Approximately HUF 43,700 (EUR 100-110) for bachelor’s and master’s students, and HUF 140,000-180,000 (EUR 350-580) for PhD students
- Accommodation Support: Free dormitory residence or a monthly contribution of HUF 40,000
- Health Insurance: Comprehensive health coverage, including supplementary medical insurance up to HUF 65,000 per year
